Course outcomes:

• Deliver responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act
• Identify main causes of injury at work within the care sector
• List current legislation relating to health and safety
• Explain the role of risk assessments in minimising injury
• Describe what an accident is, why they happen and how they can be prevented
• Explain the RIDDOR protocols
• Describe the COSHH principles
• Describe the use of different types of PPE within the care sector and how to dispose of them appropriately
• Identify the cause of stress in the workplace and explain techniques for reducing stress

This mandatory training course will take 3 – 5 hours to complete.
